At the beginning of the XIVth century, the Chiesa della Madonna degli Alemanni, a very ancient church with an underneath oratory, was standing on the very spot of the hotel.  (The church was on the present hall floor, while the oratory was on the lower floor. The staircase remains linking the two floors today.) Ceilings are adorned by frescoes and rooms are decorated with original and antique furniture. A daily breakfast buffet is served in the hotel's softly colored dinning room and in the evening, guests can enjoy an aperitivo on the garden terrace before dinner.
