Experience Puglia through ancient eyes at Agriturismo Masseria Cappuccini.  Each trullo once used to house farmers, animals, and hay, have been converted into a private luxury apartments at this 17th century property.  Each apartment has all of the modern amenities including air conditioning, en suite bathroom, satellite TV, and Wi Fi.  Relax poolside or explore the surrounding olive groves.  

DAY 1 Arrival

Bienvenuti al Sud! (Welcome to the South!) We will meet you at Napoli Centrale Train Station then transport everyone to Masseria Cappucini.  Light bites and aperitivi in the late afternoon then dinner tonight at a local trattoria. 

 

 

 

DAY 2 Buffalo mozzarella farm and wine tasting.

Tour an organic water buffalo farm and see and taste mozzarella di bufala being made on the spot.  Lunch and wine tasting on the Amalfi Coast atop the tiny village of Raito at boutique winery.  Seafood dinner al fresco tonight at a hidden gem on the outskirts of Napoli's center.    

Tuesday

Transfer to Agriturismo Masseria Cappuccini, Puglia

Escape the city life for a few days as we head further south and into magical region of Puglia.  Check into the agriturismo and meet before dinner for a light lunch and olive oil tasting accompanied by a variety of local rose wines. Tonight we explore Ostuni, the glimmering hilltop city.  Dinner will be in it's centro storico at Il Tempo Perso 

 

 

 

 

 

Wednesday,  The cave city of Matera, Basilicata,

 

Visit the cave city of Matera and venture into the countryside where some of the best preserved and oldest frescoes in Italy dating all the way back to the 8th century were recently discovered.  We will take you into the workshops of the artisans of Matera to learn about the Greek roots of their art and culture.   Dinner tonight in Locorotundo at U'Curdunn where you can enjoy the famous capocollo from Martina Franca, burata with cicoria and fava beans, and more local specialties. 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday, The Adriatic Seaside & Wine!

we visit Amastuola Vineyards for lunch and wine tasting in the olive groves. Taste unique regional wines such as Calaprice, Onda del Tempo, Primitivo, or Dolce Vitae. White sand beaches and sparkling blue waters make Puglia's coast home to some of the most pristine beaches in Italy.  Today we will visit the seaside town of Monopoli and for those who would like to spend some time on the beach, we include a day pass to a private beach club in this tour.  Otherwise get happily lost in the city's labyrinth of streets and chat locals.  Seafood dinner tonight in dramatic Polignano A Mare.

 

 

Friday,  Cook in baroque Lecce.

  

Today holds a very special culinary experience in the baroque city of Lecce.  This cooking class captures the soul of southern Italy through Chef Silvestro Silvestori's passion for the history, art, and flavors of his region, sure to be an unforgettable experience.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday   A taste of Irpina and transfer to Palazzo Vittoli.

 

We explore the village of Calitri in Irpina to taste a local cheese, caciocavalli pidolici, which is cured in an underground cellar and shop for the town's signature blue and white ceramics.  Spend the last night of our tour sleeping in the mountain village of Castelfranci at beautiful Palazzo Vittoli.   Dinner in a local trattoria tonight. 

 

 

 

Sunday, Arrivederci!

We will meet for breakfast before heading back to Napoli Centrale train station or Capodichino Airport depending on their travel needs.
