Accommodations for this tour are to be booked on your own, but Cortona is jewel box of super cute apartments nestled within in the walls of this hilltop medieval village. They are full of Tuscan character but are also equipped with all modern amenities. We provide a suggested list of properties in the village which we have personally vetted, all within walking distance to each other and all the shops, cafes, historical sites, and piazzas.
Please let us know if you need any help with booking. There are a few small, full service hotels which do stay open in winter, which you can find on our suggested properties list as well.

Sample accommodations in Cortona
DAY 1 WELCOME TO CORTONA!
We will pick you up at the Camucia-Cortona train station which is along the direct route coming from Rome or Florence.
We will get everyone settled into their apartments and then meet for aperitivo before a welcome dinner at a local trattoria in the village with wine pairing led by a local sommelier.
DAY 2 CHEESEMAKING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
Today we head out of the village to a nearby farm for a hands on cheesemaking class and lunch on the farm.
Learn to make ricotta and pecorino from this expert father-daughter team and meet their sheep. Do some holiday shopping tonight in the village before dinner together in the village.
DAY 3 MAKE AN ITALIAN HOLIDAY FEAST
It's market day! Rise early to get the best produce from the stalls and we'll stop at the butcher and wine shop to pick up ingredients for our holiday menu we will be making today. Hands-on cooking class at a villa within walking distance from the historic center where we'll make pasta, soup, a main course, and of course dessert. Dinner on your own tonight.
DAY 4 CHRISTMAS COOKIE DAY!
Christmas cookie class today at the villa. We will provide decorative boxes for you take your sweets back to America with you if you would like. Dinner on your own.
DAY 5 WINERY IN MONTEPULCIANO, CHRISTMAS MARKET & CRAFTS IN THE CANTINA
We'll take a ride out to Montepulciano today to a historic cantina for ta tour, tasting and lunch at the winery.
Free time to explore the village and shop at the Christmas market to pick up any last minute gifts. Tonight we will have a holiday filled evening of making Christmas crafts, enjoying cocktails and pizza at a friend's cantina in Cortona.
You are welcome to bring along any gifts you would like to wrap. All art supplies and wrapping paper provided.
DAY 6 DEPART CORTONA OR JOIN US IN FLORENCE FOR 2 MORE NIGHTS!
After breakfast we will transport everyone to Camucia-Cortona train station, or if you would like to continue your Tuscan journey, join us for 2 nights in Florence. See details below.

SUGGESTED PROPERTIES:
We can suggest to you a list of properties in the historic center of Cortona which have been fully vetted and with whom we have great relationships, or you can book completely on your own. Each property is updated and full of Tuscan character, and are all within walking distance of shops, cafes, and our meeting point each day. Choose from self catering apartments with breakfast on your own or all inclusive hotel stays. There is something for every budget. List provided upon request.
GETTING TO CORTONA:
Cortona is about 1 1/2 hours from Florence Santa Maria Novella train station and 2 1/2 hours from Rome by car or train. We can help you organize, just ask. :)
BOOKING:
To book, we require a deposit of $1,000.00 per person upon booking of which $350.00 is non refundable. The remainder should be paid 60 days before the workshop starts. This booking is non-refundable, but we understand that plans can change, we can accept someone to take your place or we can give you a voucher towards any other classes to use within 12 months of the intended workshop.
