HOTEL VILLA MARSILI, CORTONA
Your home in Tuscany for the week is Hotel Villa Marsili. Located within the walls of the picturesque Tuscan city of Cortona, Villa Marsili is within walking distance of the center of the village. A gated entrance, 24 hour concierge, and offers all of the modern amenities of a luxury property. A daily breakfast buffet is served in the hotel's softly colored dinning room, and in the evening guests can enjoy an aperitivo on the garden terrace before dinner.
DAY 1 WELCOME TO ITALY!
We will pick you up at Roma Fiumicino Airport or Roma Termini Station, as you need. Check into Villa Marsili, then welcome dinner at a traditional trattoria in the village of Cortona.
DAY 2 COOKING CLASS IN A TYPICAL FARMHOUSE
Hands on cooking class making traditional Tuscan dishes on an organic farm. Visit to the outskirts of Cortona to the fortress and monastary after lunch. Dinner on your own tonight.
DAY 3 ORVIETO
Today we head to Orvieto, a village once home to popes, set high atop a cliff that seems to magically rise out of nowhere. Visit the underground Etruscan caves, have lunch and an olive oil tasting, then free time to shop in the village. Dinner together in Cortona tonight.
DAY 4 TRUFFLE HUNTING
Follow a truffle hunter and his dogs into the forest to find these delicious buried treasures.
Enjoy a truffle focused lunch after the hunt back at the farmhouse. Tonight, a little taste of the south at a casual Neapolitan pizzeria in the neighboring village of Castiglion Fiorentino.
DAY 5 WINE TASTING IN THE VAL D'ORCIA
Vineyard hop in the picturesque Val d'Orcia. Light snacks will accompany each tasting with a full lunch at the last winery. Dinner on your own tonight in Cortona.
DAY 6 SAILING LAKE TRASIMENO
In the center of the Tuscan hills lies one of Italy largest lakes, Lago Trasimeno. Hop a boat with a local sailor who will take you to visit the islands and the lakeside villages and listen to the ancient legends of how they came to be. Stop in Passignano sul Trasimeno for a seafood lunch. Dinner on your own tonight.
DAY 7 CHEESE MAKING ON THE FARM & FAREWELL DINNER
Visit the sheep and learn to make cheese! This is a hands on class with a full lunch and farm experience!
Farwell dinner tonight together at our favorite Cortonese restaurant, AD Bracceria.
DAY 8 A PRESTO!

After breakfast we will depart from Villa Marsili to Roma Fiumicino Airport or Roma Termini Station as you wish.

DAY 2
Free day to explore the city, then meet in Piazza Michelangelo for a peek inside of the monk's lives in San Miniato, followed by a sunset sailing down the Arno River on the typical boats used by Florentines until the end of WWII.
DAY 3
Walk the streets of Florence with a local expert guide and discover the hidden artisan workshops learning the history of the city along the way.
